When the Lakers fell behind by 10 in the third quarter of Saturday’s Summer League quarterfinals matchup, Vander Blue rose to the occasion.

The reigning NBA G League MVP scored 10 points in that period alone, including a breakaway, and-1 layup to take the lead for good.

Blue finished with a game-high 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting to lead the Lakers past Brooklyn, 115-106.

The three time NBA G League All-Star was also clutch, as the Nets trimmed Los Angeles’ edge to two with two minutes left. Then, Blue sunk a 3-pointer with a hand in his face to give his team a much-needed cushion.

While Blue hit the biggest triple of the night, his South Bay teammate, Travis Wear, was the hottest from 3-point range, knocking down four treys for all 12 of his points.

Wear added five rebounds, while Alex Caruso finished with six points, six rebounds and three assists.

The Lakers advance to face the 10-0 Dallas Mavericks in the Summer League semifinals on Sunday at 5 p.m. PT.
