EL SEGUNDO – The South Bay Lakers have acquired Michael Holyfield as a returning player, it was announced today by General Manager Nick Mazzella. The 6-foot-11 center returns to South Bay after appearing in 18 games with the team during the 2015-16 season.
Holyfield appeared in 40 games during the 2015-16 season with Iowa and South Bay, averaging 3.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He most recently played for Beijing Dongfang in the Chinese NBL, averaging 27.2 points and 23.6 rebounds in 24 games for the team.
South Bay has also waived Zane Knowles and Michael Lyons. The training camp roster (attached) stands at 15.
