EL SEGUNDO – South Bay Lakers head coach Coby Karl today was named NBA G League Coach of the Month for games played in November. The award is the first of Karl’s career and the first such award in franchise history.
Karl led South Bay to an 8-1 record, their best start in franchise history. South Bay ended the month on a five-game winning streak, and has won all five games played on the road.
Under Karl, the Lakers shot 52.0% from the field and 46.4% from three, both marks that lead the league. South Bay averaged the second-most points, 121.0, and the third-most assists, 24.0, while also posting the highest offensive rating (113.7) in the league.
In his second season as South Bay Lakers head coach, Karl has amassed a 42-17 regular-season record and has produced three career NBA GATORADE Call-Ups.
