Hollenback Middle

The Los Angeles D-Fenders teamed up with the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office and L.A.’s Summer Night Lights program to motivate some local middle school students. D-Fenders Assistant Coach Gene Cross, and D-Fenders team members Roscoe Smith and Andre Ingram traveled to Hollenback Middle School in Downton Los Angles to give an assembly on positive life choices, achieving your dreams, and standing up for what you believe in. Coach Cross stressed the importance of being aware of the people you are surrounding yourself with and the decisions you are making. Andre Ingram touched on the importance of grades and taking your education seriously, as well as the role sacrifice plays in achieving your goals. And Roscoe Smith concluded with the importance of being yourself, standing up for others, and the idea that like in basketball, you can always make a comeback in life, if you are willing to put in the work. The L.A. D-Fenders are committed to giving back to our local community. For information on how you can get involved with the team please contact community relations assistant Nailah Waterfield at nwaterfield@d-fenders.com.
