Mac McClung Earns NBA Call-Up with Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls announced today the team has signed South Bay Lakers guard Mac McClung to a 10-day contract via the NBA’s hardship exception.

In 13 games (all starts) with South Bay this season, McClung (6-2, 185) averaged 19.5 points (.475 FG%), 6.2 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 32.2 minutes per game. He led the team in scoring and recently posted a career-high 29 points on the road at Stockton on December 11, 2021.

Prior to signing with the Lakers, McClung appeared in 29 games (all starts) at Texas Tech University, averaging 15.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 30.2 minutes per game. He was voted Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and was selected to the All-Big 12 Second Team.

The call-up marks the fourth of the year for South Bay and the 40th in team history.
