South Bay Completes a Wire to Wire Victory Over OKC

EL SEGUNDO - In the second of two games against Oklahoma City this weekend, the South Bay Lakers beat the visiting Blue, 111-94, on Sunday night. Seven Lakers scored in double figures, including 24 from Mac McClung to push South Bay (3-1) to their third win of the season. Oklahoma City (4-3) was led by 18 points from Paul Watson.
South Bay got off to a strong start behind 8 first-quarter points from McClung as they held a 11-point lead, 32-21, through one frame. An additional nine second quarter points from McClung helped South Bay carry the same 11-point lead, 60-49, into the half. McClung led all Lakers players with 17 points in the first half.
The Lakers extended their lead to 19 through three quarters, 91-72, despite 5 three-point makes in the third frame from Oklahoma City. Stanley Johnson had a strong performance in the fourth quarter, scoring 6 of his 11 points in the final 12 minutes, to help South Bay secure the victory.
Watson’s 19 points kept the visitors in the game, while Tre Mann controlled the offense scoring 15 points. D.J. Wilson and Theo Maledon scored 13 and 14 points respectively. Rob Edwards added 12 points off the bench.
McClung led the way for South Bay with 24 points, four rebounds, four assists, and a +/- of 17. Chaundee Brown Jr. added 15 points. Jay Huff was a force down low with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Cameron Oliver, Mason Jones, and Paris Bass were in doubles figures off the bench scoring 13, 11 and 12 points respectively.
South Bay will play the Santa Cruz Warriors December 3rd at 7:00pm PT at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
