South Bay Lakers fall to Mexico City Capitanes 113 - 109

Mexico City, February 1, 2023 - Mexico City Capitanes defeats the South Bay Lakers 113-119.

Capitanes and his 3-point shooting percentage made the difference against the Lakers. Capitanes started the first half of the game with good offense and maintained the advantage during the first quarter with a score of 29-37.

During the second quarter, the Mexico City team began to have problems with the counterattack. However, they closed the first half with an advantage of 5 points, 56-61, with an outstanding performance of Alfonzo Mckinnie (11 points, 1 assist, and 7 rebounds) and Orlando Mendez (9 points).

For the second half of the game, the South Bay was better; the performance of Devin Cannady (14 points, 2 assists, and 3 rebounds) and Shaquille Harrison (17 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds) helped the Lakers to win the third period for 4 points, 84-80. Capitanes woke up, and the Dominicans, Rigoberto Mendoza (20 points, 3 assists, and 8 rebounds) and Justin Minaya (21 points, 1 assist, and 3 rebounds) led the team; both scoring 22 key points in the last period to get the 11th victory of the season.
