South Bay Extends Road Win Streak To Five With Victory Over Texas

FRISCO, TX, (Jan. 29, 2022) – The South Bay Lakers (6-2) streaked through the fourth quarter to take down the Texas Legends (5-4) 117-100 in front of a sold-out crowd in Frisco.

The two teams stayed close through the first three quarters, keeping both sides within six and exchanging leads 14 times. Paris Bass had a game-high 11 boards and led all scorers with 25 off the bench for the Lakers. Chaundee Brown Jr. added 22 points and 6 rebounds, and Mac McClung finished with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 11 assists.

Feron Hunt tied the game with 9:30 on the clock, but the Lakers responded with a 15-point run to command the lead and the game. The largest lead of the night (23) came late in the fourth, but Deng Geu finished the night firing with back-to-back threes to get Texas into triple-digits.

Justin Jackson put up 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists to lead Texas’ scoring efforts. Carlik Jones finished with 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists, and Tyler Davis grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds with 8 points off the bench.
