South Bay Falls to San Diego

The South Bay Lakers fell to the San Diego Clippers, 112-100, Wednesday night at Frontwave Arena.
South Bay center Kylor Kelley led the defensive end with four blocks along with a season-high 16 points (7-9 FG, 1-2 FT) and eight rebounds. Guard Grayson Murphy tallied his first double-double of the Tip-Off Tournament with 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-5 3FG) and 13 assists to go with nine rebounds, one steal and one block. Two-way forward Armel Traoré notched 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 3FG), seven rebounds and one steal. South Bay closed a 15-point lead to just two in the fourth quarter with assignment forward Maxwell Lewis’ 21 points (8-15 FG, 2-5 3FG, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks leading the charge. Forward Alex Fudge shot three for five from beyond the arc for 13 points (5-12 FG, 3-5 3FG), three rebounds, two steals and one block to help close the gap.
Clippers guard Elijah Harkless led their offensive front off the bench with 28 points (8-14 FG, 4-8 3FG, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block. Guard RayJ Dennis grabbed 19 points (8-16 FG, 3-8 3FG), four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Forward Tosan Evbuomwan added 17 points (6-16 FG, 3-3 FT) with nine rebounds, one assist and three steals. San Diego totaled 18 steals to help secure the victory.
The South Bay Lakers return home to take on the Stockton Kings in a rematch Nov. 24 at 5 p.m. at UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo, Calif. Fans can click here to purchase tickets.
