South Bay G League Draft Pick: Elijah Cain

On Saturday morning, the NBA G League held its 20th annual draft and the South Bay Lakers added Elijah Cain with the first overall pick in the third round.

Cain played four seasons at DePaul University where he averaged 12.7 PTS, 3.6 REB, and 3.1
AST. On Jan. 19, 2019, Cain became the first player in program history to record 1,400 career
points, 350 assists and 150 three-pointers. He accomplished the benchmarks in a game at Seton
Hall.

He started in 127 straight games beginning with in the third game of his freshman season.

- 9th overall in career points (1,642)
- 4th overall in career three-pointers (179) and three-point attempts (504)
- 8th overall in career assists (405)

In the summer of 2018, Cain represented team USA and won a gold medal at the FISU America
Games in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

After college, Cain originally signed with the MBC Mykolaiv of the Ukrainian basketball league,
but left MBC to play for AB Contern, a Luxembourgian professional basketball club. In three
games with AB Contern, Cain averaged 19.3 PTS, 4.7 REB and 2.7 AST.
