South Bay Holds on to Beat Force 117-113

Sioux Falls, SD – Behind a combined 63 points from Mac McClung and Mason Jones, the South Bay Lakers defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 117-113 on Tuesday night from the Sanford Pentagon.

Brandon Knight posted a regular season high of 27 points (8-17 FGA, six assists and three steals) in the loss. It marks the second time during the regular season he has led the Skyforce (2-5) in scoring.

McClung (33 points on 11-19 FGA and eight rebounds) and Jones (30 points on 10-16 FGA and 10 rebounds) combined to scored 35 points on 13-18 FGA in the first half, which powered South Bay (2-2) to a 66-62 lead at halftime.

The Skyforce held an 88-87 lead after three quarters, but the Lakers outscored Sioux Falls by five in the final period to close out the victory.

Javonte Smart (20 points on 8-19 FGA and four assists) has posted 17-plus points in back-to-back outings. DJ Stewart added 19 points and seven rebounds, while Mario Chalmers led off the bench with 16 points on 3-7 FGA.

Chaundee Brown added 16 points on 8-12 FGA and seven rebounds for South Bay.

Sioux Falls embarks on a nine-day road trip, with the first two being against the Stockton Kings (2-2). The first of the two-game series will be on Thursday at 9:00 PM CST. South Bay travels to face the Birmingham Squadron (1-3) on Friday at 7:00 PM VST.
