South Bay Lakers Guard Scotty Pippen Jr. Earns NBA Call-Up

South Bay Lakers guard Scotty Pippen Jr. was signed to a two-way contract by the Memphis Grizzlies, the team announced today.

The call-up marks the first of the season for South Bay and the 48th in team history.

In 17 Showcase Cup and regular season games (15 starts) for South Bay this season, Pippen Jr. averaged 20.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2.3 steals in 30.4 minutes per contest. Over the past two seasons with South Bay, the 23-year-old appeared in 24 regular season games (seven starts), averaging 20.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.9 steals in 28.5 minutes per game. Pippen Jr. also appeared in six NBA games for the Los Angeles Lakers, posting averages of 2.3 points in 5.3 minutes per game.

Pippen Jr. played three collegiate seasons at Vanderbilt University (2019-22). The Oregon native was an All-SEC First Team selection following his final two campaigns as a Commodore.
