South Bay Takes the First of Two in Austin

The Austin Spurs (8-20) fell to the South Bay Lakers (19-9), 96-132, at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Wednesday night. 

Kaleb Johnson scored a season high of 21 points along with 5 rebounds. Julian Champagnie notched 20 points and grabbed 6 rebounds while Chaundee Brown Jr. chipped in 18 points.

South Bay jumped to a quick advantage and built a 33-17 lead after the first quarter. The momentum continued for the Lakers in the second frame as Cole Swinder scored 17 points in the quarter to put South Bay ahead at the half, 67-45. The Spurs fought back in the third quarter as they went on a 10-5 run with 9:06 remaining in the quarter but the Lakers would continue to dominate throughout the second half as they claimed victory. 

Scotty Pippen Jr. led South Bay with 23 points. LJ Figueroa added 22 points and 7 rebounds. Nate Pierre-Louis claimed a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds in the Lakers win.
