Throughout the season the South Bay Lakers actively participate in youth basketball clinics, educational programs and environmental awareness initiatives all around Los Angeles. South Bay Lakers and Los Angeles Lakers Celebrate Reading Across the South Bay at Carr Elementary

The South Bay Lakers, Los Angeles Lakers, the Laker girls, and Lakers Gaming organized a reading stop for their Reading Across South Bay Team UP on March 12th at Carr Elementary School in Torrance.

South Bay Lakers teams up with Union Rescue Mission

South Bay Lakers players and coaching staff teamed up with Union Rescue Mission for a community day of service.

Center St. Elementary

As part of their adoption of Center St. Elementary School in El Segundo, the South Bay Lakers participated in a reading day on March 5th, in celebration of Read Across America Day.

SBL Open Practice

Students from both elementary schools were invited to attend a South Bay Lakers Open Practice at the UCLA Health Training Center as the team prepared to play the Rio Grande Valley Vipers the next day.

As kids streamed back to their classrooms, Edison Elementary principal Jayne Okazaki heard several of them scream, “Best recess ever!”

As part of their adoption of Edison Elementary School, the South Bay Lakers recently held a day of reading for students in Torrance.

The South Bay Lakers began their yearlong relationship with Torrance’s Edison Elementary, as players and staff took over the school for a morning.
